A sheepadoodle is a designer dog breed resulting from the cross between an Old English Sheepdog and a Poodle. This hybrid combines the best traits of both breeds making them intelligent, affectionate and non-shedding companions. Like many of our other breeds making them suitable for individuals with allergies. Their playful and energetic disposition means they enjoy activities. They get along well with children and other animals making them excellent companions in diverse household settings. We have a few families who have shared that they have been great therapy dogs.
Breed Characteristics
Size: Medium to large, weighing around 55 to 70 lbs, standing /16 to 22 inches tall at the shoulder
Coat: Range from wavy to curly, colors vary, including black, white, gray, or combination
Temperament: Friendly, loving nature, great family pets
Energy: Moderate, wanting to please, making them easy to train
Lifespan: 12-15 years
Sheep Dogs
The Old English sheepdog is a large athletic breed known for its distinctive shaggy coat and gentle demeanor. Historically bred in England for herding livestock, this breed has transitioned into a beloved family companion. Males are about 80 lbs, females are slightly smaller. While these big teddy bears are adaptable, they thrive in environments where they have ample space to play and exercise. They are known for their sense of humor and can be quite the clowns bring joy to their families.
Poodles
The Poodles are considered to be very intelligent, loyal, and gentle. They can be bold but easy going. They’re a very alert watchdog and usually love the water. They’re generally 40 to 65 lbs. and 20 to 26″ tall at the shoulders. They are a wide variety of colors ie. black, white, cream apricot, brown, silver, gray, or particolored.
